Cannot browse a network server due to no file and print sharing on computer.
Cause:
'File and Printer Sharing' services are not installed on the client computer. Therefore the computer cannot browse or share any files with the server.
Solution:
Double-click the 'Network' icon in the 'Control Panel'. Click the 'Configuration' tab. Click 'Add...', and select 'Service'. Select Microsoft file and printer sharing.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the Windows 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
3) Double-click the 'Network' icon. (The 'Network' dialog box appears.)
4) Click the 'Configuration' tab.
5) Click 'Add...'. (The 'Select Network Component Type' dialog box appears.)
6) Select 'Service' from the 'Type of network component to install' list.
7) Click 'Add...'. (The 'Select Network Service' dialog box appears.)
8) Select 'Microsoft' from the 'Manufacturers' list box. (Microsoft network services appear in the 'Network Services' list box.)
9) Select 'File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks' from the 'Network Services' list box.

10) Click 'OK'.
11) Insert the Windows 95 installation CD-ROM diskette if prompted. (After the files are copied, the 'System Settings Change' dialog box appears, prompting you to restart the computer to enable the settings.)
CAUTION: To prevent data loss, save all open files, and exit all applications before restarting.
12) Click 'Yes' to restart the computer to enable the new settings.
NOTE: Wait for about 15 minutes before attempting to browse the server again.
